How quickly can you see a new patient?

For routine referrals, we typically schedule new patients within 1–2 weeks. Urgent referrals are seen within 72 hours. STAT referrals (same-day or within 24 hours) are accommodated whenever possible — just call our provider line at 952-333-4537.

What information should I include in the referral?

At minimum, we need the patient's name, date of birth, contact information, reason for referral, and any relevant clinical notes. Current medication lists, recent lab results, and prior psychiatric records are helpful but not required for scheduling.

Do you accept patients without insurance?

Yes. We welcome self-pay patients and offer transparent pricing. We also accept most major insurance plans. Our team handles benefit verification prior to the first appointment.

Will I receive updates on my referred patient?

Yes. With patient consent, we send discharge summaries, treatment plans, and medication updates to the referring provider. We believe collaborative care leads to the best outcomes.

What age groups do you treat?

We treat adolescents ages 13 and up, adults, and older adults (65+). Gernine Previl has extensive experience across all age groups including geriatric psychiatry and long-term care settings.

Do you offer telehealth for referred patients?

Absolutely. We offer HIPAA-compliant video telehealth and audio/phone appointments for patients anywhere in Minnesota. In-person visits are available at our Bloomington clinic for patients in the Twin Cities metro area.
